  • Why would I come for therapy?
Therapy can benefit everyone! Each person is unique and valuable, and I work with all aspects of who you are. Therapy can help with challenges such as anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-worth, general wellbeing, and stress management. It’s also a space to explore wisdom and insight, guiding you toward your desires and goals while uncovering hidden blocks that may be holding you back. Sometimes, you may simply feel like there’s "something more" out there for you. Therapy is a space where we can explore that together.
  • How often should we meet?
We typically start with weekly therapy sessions. This allows us to build trust, create a safe space, and help you feel comfortable exploring whatever you bring to therapy. As your therapy progresses and you feel more resourced and self-supporting, we can adjust the frequency to suit your needs. Many people find it helpful to continue therapy long-term, meeting once a month or every couple of months, to maintain a sense of balance and well-being.
  • How long is a therapy session?
Individual sessions are 50-55 minutes long, which allows time for me to write brief notes after we close our session. Couple, relationship, and group sessions are 90 minutes long, giving everyone a chance to be heard and for relational dynamics to be addressed. Please arrive promptly to ensure you receive the full benefit of your therapy time. If you are more than five minutes late and have not communicated with me, I will assume you are unable to attend and will leave the session. Please note that this will attract a fee.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to change or cancel a session, please call or text me at least 48 hours before your scheduled time. Cancellations or changes made with less than 48 hours' notice will require full payment for the session. This policy applies to me as well—if I need to reschedule, I will provide you with at least 48 hours' notice. I understand that unforeseen emergencies can arise. If a true emergency prevents you from attending your session, we can discuss and negotiate the situation.
  • Are you covered by Medicare or private health insurance?
Unfortunately, my services are not covered by Medicare or private health insurance. Currently, only a limited number of mental health services and providers are eligible for government subsidies. However, here are a few things to consider: The cost of my sessions is often comparable to or less than the out-of-pocket gap payment you would need to cover when seeing a psychologist through a Mental Health Plan. I am able to invoice and provide therapy through the NDIS if you are eligible. If finances are a concern, please reach out—I offer sliding scale payment plans to make therapy more accessible. Group therapy is another affordable option and comes with its own unique benefits, including shared cost and the dynamic growth opportunities of a group environment. Therapy is an investment in yourself and your wellbeing. My goal is to provide you with the tools, insights, and courage to live well and independently beyond therapy.
  • I can't see a time that suits me through the online booking system.
If you’re having trouble finding a convenient time, please get in touch with me directly. I may be able to offer flexibility by meeting outside of usual hours or scheduling an online session instead. Let’s have a conversation to explore what works best for you.
  • Does therapy work in an online session?
Absolutely. I am often amazed by the depth and effectiveness we can achieve in online therapy. This approach offers greater flexibility, allowing me to be available for you more frequently and even outside of typical hours. Online therapy also enables you to remain in a familiar environment, which can enhance your sense of safety and comfort—both crucial elements in the therapeutic process. Additionally, it allows me to support clients from anywhere in the world. No matter what you want to bring to therapy or where you’re located, we can work together effectively.
  • How does your group therapy work?
Group therapy provides a unique opportunity to process your experiences in a safe and supportive space while being seen and heard by others. This powerful form of therapy allows you to feel wholly accepted as you are and supported by people who share similar feelings, challenges, and needs. I am passionate about group work and use a variety of methodologies to engage participants and tailor the experience to the unique needs of each group. Sessions typically include a minimum of 4 people to create enough support and energy, with a maximum of 6 participants to ensure intimacy and focus. You don’t need to find others to join—I'll match you with a group. However, if you already have people you'd like to share this experience with, please reach out, and we can arrange an exclusive group just for you.
